Temple, TX – 2 November 2016 – Texas Hydraulics Inc. was one of only two companies in Texas to be presented with the Lone Start Safety Award. The award, presented by The Division of Workers’ Compensation, recognizes Texas employers with exemplary workplace safety programs which can serve as models for other employers.
The award ceremony was held yesterday at Texas Hydraulics’ manufacturing headquarters located in Temple, TX. Texas Hydraulics has been a leading manufacturer of hydraulic cylinders since 1968 and employs approximately 380 people at their Temple location. The award was presented by The Texas Department of Insurance Director of Workplace Safety Karen Puckett and accepted by Dawn Wyatt (Health Safety & Environmental Manager) and Ernie Avalos (Health Safety & Environmental Coordinator). Fire Marshall Mark Spivey was also in attendance at the ceremony.
Texas Hydraulics’ CEO Patrick Taylor cited “the core values of trust, teamwork and a focus on excellence” that led to the culture of safety which was being recognized by this award. Taylor went on to say “We are creating a high performing environment where we are inviting our associates to do and be their best every day; thank you for rising to the occasion”.
After the ceremony, all associates were treated to a thank you luncheon catered by another longtime Temple favorite, Mungia’s BBQ. Leftovers were taken to the temple Fire Department and The Salvation Army.
